Reduce or prevent your knee pain and improve your performance with this simple, but highly effective

When we go up or down stairs, stand from a chair or perform a squat based movement in the gym, we want everywhere in the leg to work well together - Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Calves and Glutes.

To achieve this, we want most of our INTENT through the MIDFOOT rather than through the heels or toes. This strategy can help all the muscles in the leg around the ankle/knee/hip to co CO-CONTRACT and work together more efficiently.

A good cue to help you with this MIDFOOT INTENT is to ‘SQUASH AN ORANGE THROUGH THE MIDFOOT’ when performing key movements such as:

A: Standing from your chair

B: Pushing off when going up a step

C: Coming up from the bottom of a squat or split squat/lunge position in the gym or in your daily life

Getting everything to work together will give you the best chance of success in your daily movements and PREVENT certain areas of the body working harder than others and therefore OVERLOADING.

This simple strategy has helped lots of our Physiotherapy patients in the New Milton, Highcliffe, Lymington and New Forest area to reduce and prevent knee pain and improve their performance during their daily activities and hobbies/sports.
